Reflecting positive hiring trends, an estimated 1.6 million new jobs could be created in the country's organised sector this year, as per a survey report.
The number of estimated new jobs this year would be higher than 1.4 million jobs created in 2011, said the survey conducted by leading HR firm Ma Foi Randstad.
The latest Employment Trends Survey from Ma Foi Randstad showed that most employers are optimistic about their hiring plans for 2012 and all sectors have indicate positive growth outlook.
"The organised sector in India is set to create about 1.6 million new jobs in the year 2012," the report said.
The findings are based on a survey of 639 companies across 13 industry sectors in eight major Indian cities.
According to the report, healthcare, hospitality, IT/ITES, non-machinery manufacturing, media & entertainment are most optimistic about hiring activities.
"Healthcare, hospitality and IT/ITES are looking forward to add more than 2,00,000 jobs, whereas manufacturing [non-machinery products], media & entertainment and real estate and construction sectors, each, are expecting one lakh plus additions," it noted.
As per the survey, healthcare is projected to generate over 2,73,000 jobs, followed by hospitality (over 2,30,000) and IT/ITES (more than 2,27,000).
Ma Foi Randstad MD & CEO E Balaji said the job market is expected to bounce back in 2012 as companies are aiming to maintain growth despite the global slowdown.
"In the calendar year 2011, around 1.4 million jobs were generated across the 13 sectors. This was lesser than the 1.6 million job generation predicted at the beginning of 2011," the report said.
