Orissa Govt Misusing Funds: Bjp

The BJP yesterday cautioned Pakistan against escalating tension along the border and warned that if forced a war, India would have to ensure that the LoC along Kashmir was extended westward to include the Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

BJP general secretary K N Govindacharya, who represents the party's hardline thinking on Kashmir, said that Indian maps show the POK as Indian territory and a war, if forced, would have to formally wrest this from Pakistan.

He later pointed out that a Parliamentary resolution had mentioned vacation of the POK as India's only unfinished agenda in Kashmir.

Govindacharya rejected the Pakistani government's invitation to the Indian foreign affairs minister for further talks. It would not serve any purpose in the present circumstances, he held.

 

The BJP has been taking hardline stands on Kashmir these days in order to prop-up its cadre confidence, a party leader said. Govindacharya's press briefing was also a part of that.
