The Orissa government has achieved 55.49 per cent of the targeted collection in tax and non-tax revenue in the current financial year up to October 2010.
The overall collection, both tax and non-tax, stands at Rs 7505.60 crore till the end of October as against the budgetary target of Rs 13525 .99 crore for 2010-11, minister for finance & excise Prafulla Chandra Ghadai informed the state assembly.
In the state’s own tax revenue category, the total collection till October end has been Rs 5460.19 crore which is 52.70 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 10360.01 crore.
The sales tax collection has been to the tune of Rs 3285.25 crore which is an achievement of 52.37 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 6273.26 crore for the current fiscal.
Similarly, the entry tax collection was Rs 535.57 crore which is an achievement of 68.15 per cent of the targeted Rs 785.90 crore. The professional tax collection at Rs 79.03 crore is 54.50 per cent of the targeted Rs 145 crore.

The state excise collection at Rs 534.28 crore is 56.21 per cent of the budgetary target of Rs 950.5 crore. The motor vehicle tax collection at Rs 374.97 crore till October end is 56.21 per cent of the budgetary target of Rs 713.42 crore for this fiscal.
The total non-tax revenue collection at Rs 2045.42 crore is an achievement of 64.61 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 3165.98 crore.
In the non-tax revenue category, the mining revenue collection at Rs 1770.67 crore is 79.56 per cent of the budgetary target of Rs 2225.58 crore.
On the expenditure front, the state's total expenditure till October end has been Rs 15598.89 crore which is an achievement of 39.10 per cent of the total expenditure of Rs 39896.59 crore estimated in the State Budget for 2010-11, Ghadai said.
The Non-Plan expenditure has been Rs 11240.39 crore which is 41.66 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 26978.81 crore. The Plan expenditure was Rs 4358.50 crore representing 34.58 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 12917.78 crore.
Within the Plan expenditure, State Plan expenditure stands at Rs 3463.24 crore till the end of October which is 34.58 per cent of the budgetary estimate of Rs 10015.47 crore. The Central Plan expenditure at Rs 259.55 crore is an achievement of 23.73 per cent of the budgetary estimate of 1093.94 crore.
Similarly, there was expenditure of Rs 635.71 crore under Centrally Sponsored Plan which is 35.15 per cent of Rs 1808.37 crore estimated in the State Budget for 2010-11.
