Chief minister K Rosaiah on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) Phase-II here. The Phase-II project, stretching 33.3-kilometre, will be completed by December 2012, he said.
“Hyderabad is rapidly growing along with the population,” Rosaiah said, adding the government was aiming at providing quality infrastructure to people of the state capital.
The chief minister, who announced a loan component of Rs 385 crore for the project in the recent Budget, said the Sherlingampally-to-Shameerpet eight-lane access-controlled expressway project was taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 1,100 crore and would completed with financial assistance from the Japan International Corporation.
Urging government officials to ensure quality as well as timely completion of work, Rosaiah said the Phase-I being laid from Gachibowli to Pedda Amberpet was expected to be completed by June this year and the stretch from Narsingi to Shameerpet by December 2011.
The chief minister also unveiled the plaque of a flyover at Langar Houz here today.
