P&G to fund street schools

Procter & Gamble has committed a minimum of Rs 1 crore for various educational projects administered under CRY spread across India with the Siksha programme.
 
Consumers should know that when they buy large pack of brands like Tide, Ariel, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Rejoice, VicksVaporub or Pampers, a certain amount of the sale price coupled with a matching contribution from the company goes towards children's education, said Hemant Upadhyay, customer business development manager of P&G's eastern region operations said here.
 
Each pack sold will help fund a day's education for an underprivileged child, he added.
 
Irrespective of the amount of sales generated, the company would pay Rs 1 crore to CRY children's education centres at in Barrackpore (West Bengal), Delhi, Ongole and Chilkaluripet (Andhra Pradesh) among others.
