Madhya Pradesh Congress President, Suresh Pachouri today attributed the improved performance of the party in the Lok Sabha elections to the hard work done by the workers and all senior leaders.

"In 2004, the Congress had won only four seats but this time it was all set to win at least 11 seats," Pachouri told reporters at the PCC office here.

Asked what he thought of young Congress leader, Meenakshi Natrajan's possible victory over veteran BJP leader L N Pandey from the Mandsaur constituency, Pachouri said this was a good sign for the party.

Answering a question, he said that the murder of Congress MLA, Makhanlal Jatav in the Bhind district did not much impact on the elections which the party fought with proper management.
