Pacts On Urea Offtake Signed In Oman

A number of agreements concerning the Oman India Fertiliser Company were signed in Oman today.

These agreements included the urea offtake agreement between the Indian government and the Oman India Fertiliser Company, ammonia offtake agreement between Iffco and OMIFCO, gas supply agreement between the government of Oman and OMIFCO, and the related direct agreements with lenders.

According to an official press release issued here today, fertiliser secretary Ashok Pahwa signed the agreements on behalf of the Indian government. On the occasion, fertiliser minister S S Dhindsa said the urea offtake agreement would provide India with a reliable and long-term supply of urea. Under this pact , the Indian government and Iffco have committed to buy OMIFCO
