As much as 66,297 metric tonnes of paddy arrived in various mandis of Haryana yesterday as compared to 14,248 metric tonnes of paddy that arrived on the corresponding day last year. The total arrival of paddy in the state has increased to 136,133 metric tonnes as compared to 21,282 metric tonnes of paddy arrived till corresponding period last year.
Haryana food and supplies minister Mahender Partap Singh said that out of the total arrival of paddy, as much as 129,304 metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by six government procuring agencies and rest by the dealers.
The food and supplies department had purchased 54,048 metric tonnes of paddy, whereas 27,048 metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by HAFED.
Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 28,943 metric tonnes of paddy, CONFED 10,244 metric tonnes and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 9021 metric tonnes of paddy.
