Pakistan defers Sarabjit hanging by one month

The Pakistan government has stalled the execution of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national accused of terrorist activities, by a month.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee informed Rajya Sabha today that the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has sent a note saying that Pakistan President Pervez Mushrraf has stalled Sarabjit's execution till April 30. There were reports that Sarabjit was to  be hanged on April 1.
 
Welcoming the move, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh said this precious time of one month will help review the case.
