"...And to act as a nucleus for interaction between academia and industry by encouraging exchange of designers and other technical staff between the Institute and the industry and undertaking sponsored and funded research as well as consultancy projects," it added.

The Bill, which was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on March 11, has been referred to the Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce, headed by Shanta Kumar, for examination and report.

It said that "the committee has decided to invite memoranda, containing views/ suggestions/comments from individuals/experts/stakeholders, interested in the subject matter of the Bill, and also to hear oral evidence on the subject".

The views should be sent within 15 days of publication of this advertisement.
