A panel probing the July 12 accident at a Delhi Metro construction site that left six persons dead has submitted its report to DMRC chief E Sreedharan.

A group of directors will go into the report and will give their views to Sreedharan on the findings of the committee after which the DMRC is expected to take "strong action" against those responsible by next week.

The three-member panel headed by Prof A K Nagpal of IIT submitted the report to Sreedharan last evening, a Delhi Metro spokesperson said today. The panel was to submit its report on Wednesday.

Sreedharan has asked a group of directors of the Delhi Metro to examine the report after which he will review it, the spokesperson said.

"Based on the findings of the report and the suggestions of the group directors, DMRC will take action against those concerned by next week," he said.

Six persons were killed and 15 others when an under- construction bridge collapsed in Zamrudpur on July 12 morning.

The panel comprises Prof A K Nagpal of IIT, Prof B R Bose from Delhi College of Engineering and Steven Lowry. DMRC Managing Director E Sreedharan yesterday said that they have dropped its design head Rajan Kataria from the panel.
