Pawar Sounds Warning To Uf Govt

The Congress yesterday sounded another warning bell to the United Front (UF) government with party's leader in the Lok Sabha, Sharad Pawar, saying we cannot remain quiet over the issue of price rise of essential commodities and artificial shortage of wheat.

Pawar's observation come close on the heels of party president Sitaram Kesri's notice to the government that its functioning would be under critical watch of the Congress.

Addressing a function held here to felicitate him on becoming the party leader in the Lok Sabha, Pawar said that the erstwhile Congress government had left behind a big bhandaar (huge stocks) of foodgrains.

 

Despite this, price of wheat, atta, rice and oil were going up, he said and added,
