The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has directed the state government to pay, at the earliest, the amount of Rs 493.37 crore, the subsidy it announced for the agricultural sector and powerlooms, to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) for the fiscal 2001-02.
MERC order has also pulled up the state government for continuing to refer to this subsidy amount as
