The government yesterday claimed that nearly 30,000 tonnes of foodgrains had been moved till Sunday night to various destinations in the super storm-ravaged Orissa via air, sea, rail and road. It also maintained that STD link to all district headquarters has been restored.
A press note issued yesterday by the agriculture ministry, which is coordinating the relief efforts in the state, said restoration of power till this morning was to the extent of 50 per cent in Puri, 45 per cent in Khurda, 32 per cent in Bhubaneswar, 41 per cent in Ramsinghpur and 13 per cent in the state's financial capital Cuttack.
It said there was no shortage of diesel in Dubri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara areas. All petrol pumps have been instructed to sell kerosene.
