People of Punjab will give a befitting reply to SAD-BJP: Cong

Congress president Lal Singh today claimed people of the state would give a befitting reply to the ruling SAD-BJP alliance in the Lok Sabha polls.   

 He said the SAD-BJP and SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar have maintained that prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had done nothing for Punjab.    

 "This a big lie and people of Punjab know the truth", he said.   

The UPA headed by Dr, ManMohan Singh benefitted farming comunity by enhancing MSP of wheat and paddy, during UPA regime MSP of wheat was increased to Rs 440 per quintal and increase of paddy was by 285 per quintal. The Centre sanctioned so many project for Punjab alone" he said.   

Lal Singh was strongly critical of those leaders who were criticising Dr Manmohan Singh.    

 "As defeat stares them in the face, they  have started targeting Dr Singh out of sheer frustration", he said.
