Petrol Price Up 50 P, Diesel 40 P

The retail price of petrol has increased by up to 50 paise per litre. The retail price of diesel, too, has been hiked by up to 40 paise per litre.

The price hike, effective from the midnight of September 15, was announced after the pricing groups of the four oil marketing companies met in Mumbai.

According to sources, the oil marketing companies were pressing for a price hike of 71 paise for diesel and Rs 2.25 per litre for petrol.
