Petroproducts To Attract Additional Excise Levy

The finance ministry has decided to impose additional excise duties on petroleum products after dismantling of the administered pricing mechanism (APM) on March 31, 2002, to provide for subsidies on kerosene to be sold through the public distribution system (PDS) and domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
