The aluminium conductor unit would come up at the aluminium downstream park at Angul being developed jointly by National Aluminium Company (Nalco) and state owned Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (Idco).
The proposal by the PGCIL subsidiary was approved today by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).
"The aluminium conductor unit would have a capacity of 60,000 tonne per annum. It will make use of molten aluminium to be supplied to the downstream units coming up at the Angul aluminium park. The project would offer direct employment to 50 persons", said Kalyan Mohanty, general manager, Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (Ipicol), the agency for investment promotion.
The SLSWCA approved a proposal by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to set up an LPG bottling plant at Bolangir at an investment of Rs 100 crore.
The other proposal cleared was that of SOM Distilleries & Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd to set up one million hectolitre capacity brewing industry and 1.08 million hectolitre per annum capacity bottling plant near Khordha with a total investment of Rs 193 crore.
Together, the projects proposed by BPCL and SOM Distilleries & Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd are tipped to create direct and indirect employment for 493 people.
