Pioneer Online has implemented an upgraded management information system (MIS) for the Rail Wheel Factory, Bangalore. The new system developed on Microsoft .Net framework helps track production of material against raw material orders to ship of finished products.
The upgraded MIS is a custom-developed ERP system which automates the complete workflow, from receiving production planning to production at different stages, testing, despatch, and staff activities like purchase of material, issue of material, disposal of scrap etc.
Railway minister Nitish Kumar, who inaugurated the new system, said the Factory had been in the fore-front of using the latest technology and the usage of .Net was yet another milestone.
