Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s bypass surgery is scheduled early morning Saturday. He will be operated in the Cardio-Thoracic Vascular Surgery department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
According to sources in the AIIMS, one operation theatre (OT) has been exclusively booked for the PM. “In one of the OTs, no other operation has been scheduled on Saturday,” said a senior doctor. Due to security reasons, the OT has not been publicly identified. Even the name of the doctor who will be in-charge of the OT has not been revealed.
