PM concerned over slow infra development

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed concern over the slow progress of infrastructure projects and has directed that a meeting of the Committee on Infrastructure be called to review the status of various sectors such as power, roads, ports, telecom and railways.

The PM also reviwed the implementation of various initiatives under the National Common Minimum Programme. Among the issues discussed were: Implementation of the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan Committee on agricultural indebtedness, Vaidyanathan Committee Report on cooperative sector and the Suchar Committee Report on empowerment of minorities.
