Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday held a review meeting with the Planning Commission, ahead of the start of 12th Five-Year Plan (2012-13 to 2016-17).
Officials said the meeting with the commission’s deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and members was a preparatory one for the Plan. The final document for the Plan is likely to be delayed by at least four months, though the approach paper was cleared by the National Development Council in October 2011.
The main thrust of the Plan is believed to have been reworked in the light of changing global situation and its impact on India’s growth prospects.
