The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, will review preparations for the Commonwealth Games at a high-level meeting on Friday.

This is the second time in a month that Dr. Singh will be reviewing preparations for the October 3-14 event. He has already asked the concerned authorities to "redouble their efforts" and complete the remaining work.

The Prime Minister has said that instead of finding fault with each other, the authorities must work together and with a sense of national pride to ensure that the games are a success.

A committee of bureaucrats headed by Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar is also expected to review preparations with the Games Organising Committee.

Many participating countries are concerned about the security and rising cases of dengue in the capital ahead of the games.

The International Security Liaison Group (ISLG), a mechanism to coordinate security concerns among participating countries will start meeting every two days from September 15 at the specially set up Command and Control Room at The Claridges Hotel in New Delhi.

Security experts from most countries have been visiting venues over the past few days.
