In his first trip abroad during the second tenure, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will travel to Russia next month for the Brazil-Russia-India-China (BRIC) Summit.

Singh will undertake a two-day visit from June 15 to Yaketenaburg for the day-long Summit the next day, sources said here today.

Global financial crisis is expected to be high on agenda of the meet during which the four countries will look at ways to tackle through collective efforts.

Considering that all the four BRIC nations favour immediate reform of the international financial institutions, the Summit will provide an opportunity for their leaders to synergise their views and present a collective voice.

Underlining that decision-making of global financial institutions should be democratised to reflect present-day realities, India feels globalisation, development and economic process cannot be left solely at the mercy of an unregulated free market.

The leaders of India, Russia, China and Brazil are also expected to discuss ways to step up trade and investment between them.
