The CPI(M) warned the Congress-led UPA government not to take the next step on the Indo-US nuclear deal till the issue was discussed in the winter session of Parliament.

The party's Central Committee, whose three-day meeting ended today, also authorised the Politburo to take steps to ensure its stand was implemented, said a press communique.

The Central Committee reiterated the stand, taken unanimously at its August 22-23 meeting, asking the government not to proceed with the next step, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat said.

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan and State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan have been reinducted in the Politburo with immediate effect.

"They have conducted themselves in accordance with the spirit of the Central Committee's decision," said Karat.
