Passenger car market leader Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) has posted a 76 per cent increase in its domestic sales to 32,155 in November this year _ including 17 units of its mid-size car Baleno that was launched on Monday _ from 18,241 sold in November last year.

The company's November sales mark an increase of 15 per cent over the 28,095 units sold in October this year.

Zen has meanwhile consolidated its lead over rival Santro of Hyundai Motors India Ltd by selling 7,226 in November

this year against 6,301 for

Santro.

Santro had closed in on Zen in October this year by selling 6,207 units against 6,382 for Zen. September sales stood at an all-time monthly high of 7,214 for Santro, while Zen sales stood at 7,479.

 

Matiz of Daewoo Motors India Ltd sold 3,139 units in November including 30 units exported, which marks an increase of 6.7 per cent over the 2,940 sold in October this year. Matiz sales in November this year also marks a whopping increase of 212 per cent over the 1,016 sold in November last year during the 18 days of the month following its launch on November 12 last year.

Telco sold 5,214 Indica cars in November, a 9.9 per cent rise

from the 4,744 cars it sold in October.

Telco said in a statement yesterday its total Indica sales since its launch late last year was 33,409 cars.

Santro sales during January-November this year stand at 53,557.

Maruti Udyog Ltd's sales for November this year consist of 16,178 units of Maruti 800 (8,662 in November 1998), 7,518 units of Omni (3,585), 1,184 units of Esteem, and 32 units if

Maruti 1000, apart from the 7,226 units of Zen and 17 units of Baleno.
