Chief minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya said that the government will move the Supreme Court if necessary over any major hike power tariff, in a bid to protect lower income groups.
Speaking at the inauguaration of Balaka Abasan, Bhattacharya also said that the poor will also be exempted from water tax.
He also clarified that the government has also defined the people who fall under this category.
