Power Finance Corp plans to metamorphose into a bank

 Though the proposal is on the drawing board, a PFC executive said the options being explored are conversion of the public sector development financial institution into a bank by starting in-house banking or merging it with an existing bank.

 The alternative of opening a banking subsidiary is being considered too, the source said.

 In a recent presentation before the company
