The Central Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (CPDCL) has set up a central control room at its headquarters here to provide better services to agricultural consumers. |
It has announced a toll-free telephone number "" 1600334087 "" to enable these consumers to contact and register their complaints for speedy redressal round-the-clock during the 2004 Rabi season. |
CPDCL said that despite steep demand in energy demand, it had kept the power supply to agriculture on priority and was making efforts to ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply to the farmers in the coming months. |
It said it was also holding substation-wise meetings to inform the farmers on the power supply situation, energy conservation and other electricity-related issues. |
As part of system improvement, 66 additional substations and 22,148 additional distribution transformers had been added during the period April '03 to February '04 to cater to the additional demand, CPDCL informed. |
All the district units were maintaining the necessary rolling stock of the distribution transformers to replace the failed transformers immediately. Lighting supply was provided to all rural areas from 6 pm to 6 am for the students to prepare for their examinations, the release added. |
