Prices Of Multi-Vitamin Tablets Cut Sharply

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has sharply reduced prices of multi-vitamins and pseudoephedrine combinations used for treating cough and cold. Ceiling prices of multi-vitamin syrups have been reduced by 30 per cent from Rs 39 to Rs 27 per 100 ml bottle while price of the aluminium blister pack of 30 iron tablets with vitamins, zinc and calcium has been cut sharply by 79 per cent. Multi-vitamin drop 15 ml bottle prices have been pruned by 61 per cent to Rs 11.6 from Rs 30 per bottle.

Prices have been fixed for the first time in case of 12 formulation packs. In the case of 45 packs, prices have been revised downward ranging from 5.77 per cent to 90.26 per cent, while, prices have been increased in case of 4 packs. The increases range from 6.76 per cent to 16.60 per cent.

 

A number of diosmin and insulin-based formulations have been brought under price control for the first time. Prices of MJ Pharma's 10 ml humininsulin regular injection has been fixed at Rs 249.

While the ceiling prices of avil have been raised by 7 per cent to 16 per cent, prices of pheniramine maleate injections have been cut by 29 per cent to 33 per cent.
