Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the 4th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM4) meet on April 17, which is likely to see participation of energy ministers from 23 countries.
"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will open the Ministerial while Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, will co-chair the event with the US Energy Secretary Steven Chu," an official statement said today.
The meeting is aimed at accelerating towards global clean energy economy.

The Ministerial is to be held between April 17-18. It will also release the 2013 version of International Energy Agency's Tracking Clean Energy Progress report.
Discussions will focus on identifying smart policies, programmes and innovative strategies to increase energy efficiency, enhance clean energy supply and expand energy access, the statement said.
"It is expected that new commitments to advance those goals will also be announced at the end of the two days," it added.
