Convenor of NGO Samaja Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) S R Hiremath said former CM and Lok Sabha member N Dharama Singh too should be prosecuted for his role in the illegal mining in Karnataka.

The SPS had filed a writ petition in the court seeking prosecution of Dharam Singh. Speaking here on Monday, Hiremath said it was not right to leave out the name of Dharam Singh as the former CM was equally responsible for illegal mining in the state.

“It was Dharam Singh who permitted the transportation of the minerals from the patta lands against the law. Singh granted permission despite thethen secretary to the department of mines and geology Latha Krishna Rau cautioning him against doing so” Hiremath pointed out.
