The parliamentary panel looking into the Companies Bill 2009 may suggest incorporation of special provisions for the appointment of independent directors in central public sector enterprises (PSEs).
The panel may also express its views on the corporate governance norms to be followed by the central PSEs, R Bandyopadhyay, secretary, ministry of corporate affairs, said.
Speaking at the first Public Sector Enterprises Summit, jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Bandyopadhyay said the panel will submit its report during the monsoon session of Parliament.
