Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has joined the ‘Sadbhavana Mission’ launched by his counterpart in Gujarat, Narendra Modi, to strengthen the ethos of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood.

Expressing solidarity with the Gujarat chief minister, Badal on the behalf of Punjab and Punjabis, lauded Modi’s initiative to undertake fast for three days with the sole objective to disseminate the message of national integration, harmony and prosperity amongst the people of Gujarat.

He hoped this campaign would not merely restrict to Gujarat but would also go a long way to sensitise the people of other states about the significance of peace and harmony in the present scenario. Badal also urged the former deputy prime minister and senior BJP national leader L K Advani, who was also present on the occasion, to launch such campaign at the national level to spread the message of communal harmony, peace, unity, progress and prosperity in every nook and corner of the country.

Badal also appreciated the Gujarat Chief Minister for his pro-development vision and dynamic outlook for achieving the growth rate of 11% in Gujarat against the average national growth rate of 7 to 8 % and described him a ‘light house of development’ for the other states to follow the path of growth and prosperity. He called upon the Chief Ministers of other states to replicate the Gujarat model of development to ensure the overall prosperity and progress in their respective states.
