Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to provide full interest relief to the state on small saving loans of Rs 703 crore, as recommended by 13th Finance Commission.
The chief minister, who called on Jaitley in New Delhi, also asked for the immediate release of grants worth Rs 362 crore to the Punjab government.
He also pleaded for relief to three debt stressed states, including Punjab, as recommended by the 13th Finance Commission.
Badal also demanded the release of Rs 867-crore compensation due to the state on account of central sales tax reduction for 2010-2015. He also sought early release of the initial grant of Rs 50 crore for drug de-addiction activities.
