Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced that the new industrial policy for the state would be notified by January 1, 2009, to ensure a level-playing field to all the investors and entrepreneurs being the stake holders in the process of development and growth of the state’s economy.
Chairing the first joint meeting of the Large Industry Development and Infrastructure Development Council held here at the CII North headquarters, the chief minister directed the Principal Secretary (industries and commerce) SS Channy to formulate small sectoral groups of different industries, such as manufacturing, food processing, sports, cycle and cycle parts, and steel and forging to redress their grievances properly.
He assured the industrialists that the single-window service would be effectively strengthened to provide hassle-free approvals and clearances from different quarters for setting up industrial units within a time frame of 15 days.
