Punjab to organise global investor conference

Decision had been taken in line with the approval of the fiscal incentives for industrial promotion by the state

The Punjab government would organise a global investor's conference in October to attract investment in all sectors of the state.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Industries and Commerce Department said this decision had been taken in line with the approval of the fiscal incentives for industrial promotion by the state. He said the department had decided to rope in a knowledge partner for the investment campaign and for the conference.

He said a high-level committee had been formed to supervise the process of the selection of the knowledge partner. Divulging the details of configuration of the committee, he said the managing director (MD) of Punjab Infrastructure Development Board had been made the chairperson. MD of Punjab Energy Development Authority, MD of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation, chief administrator of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority and MD of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd had been inducted in the committee as members. The MD of Punjab InfoTech Corporation would serve as the member secretary of the committee.
 

He said that this committee would finalize the terms and conditions of the knowledge partners. It would also oversee the bid process including pre bid conference and pre qualification of bidders.

The committee would recommend the selector bidder to the government.
