Trade body India Semiconductor Association (ISA) today announced appointment of PVG Menon as the new president of the association.
In this role Menon would be responsible for overseeing the operations of ISA and will work as a member of its executive council on strategic issues related to the growth of the semiconductor and the electronics industry in India.
"ISA strongly supports the goal to make electronics a national mission in our country. Our search for the new President was focused on ensuring we have the right leadership to achieve that target," Pradip K Dutta, chairman, ISA said in a statement.
Menon has joined the association at a time when India is looking for investment in semiconductor sector from industry and has announced support of Rs 25,000 crore for setting up to electronic chip manufacturing facility in the country.
In the past, as an industry representative, Menon has volunteered with several ISA initiatives such as, ISA-Frost and Sullivan Market Study, Technovation, and ISA-Ernst and Young country competitiveness study and others.
"I would like to work towards strengthening ISA’s role and contributions in various key segments and core initiatives," Menon said.

ISA study reports have been basis of various policy roadmap being prepared by India.
Prior to taking up this role, Menon was the president and CEO of Vann Consulting. He has over 24 years of experience in the development, marketing and management of technology.
Menon has earlier worked with Philips semiconductor division, now known as NXP Semiconductors and Analog Devices.
