PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is looking at doubling its employee strength in Kolkata in the next 4 years for all its verticals that include tax advisory, regulatory and audit advisory services. At present, it has close to 1000 employees in Kolkata. |
It would also double its national employee strength in the next four years from close to 4,500 employees right now. |
"Going forward we expect our Indian team to enter into global management for projects. So far, we have had overseas teams managing and coordinating projects while the Indian team executed it. We anticipate a role reversal soon," informed N Ramesh Rajan, chairman, PwC. PwC has also recognised e-governance as its thrust area this year. |
"We would be taking up a few e-governance projects in Bhutan and Bangladesh this year," Rajan said. |
PwC has also recognised crisis management as one of its services that requires serious attention and employee strength in sync with the growing demand. |
"With more and more corporates asking for crisis management services of us, we plan to invest in training employees for this vertical as well as recruit more. At present, we have close to 60 employees for crisis management in India," Rajan added. |
