Queensland eyes partnership with Gujarat industries

With the economy of Queensland moving from mining and agricultural base industries to knowledge and technology base industries, the industries in Queenland are keen on developing a partnership with the Gujarat industries.
 
Australia has recently signed a free trade agreement with China and India could also be a pivotal partner for Australia.
 
Recently, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) delegation lead by president Chinubhai R Shah had fruitful meeting with the leading industrialists of Queensland, Australia, a 'sunshhine state' under the auspices of Australian Industry Group (AIG) at Brisbane.
 
"Queensland has all infrastructural facilities and strategic advantages to be the most suitable business partner of Gujarat," said Bob Durance, Queensland Department of State Development and Innovation, while addressing a joint meeting of GCCI delegates and over 25 representatives of Australian companies and educational institutes of Queensland.
 
At present, Queensland is forefront in biotechnology and around 700 scientists are working in different sectors.
