Rajinder Pal Singh, 1976 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, is the the new secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).
Singh, 58, former chairman and managing director of the Punjab and Sind Bank, replaces Ajay Shankar who superannuated today, an official said.
DIPP is a key economic department dealing with policy formulation for both foreign direct and domestic investment.
