Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister P K Dhumal has described the Railway Budget as disappointing and contrary to the expectations and aspirations of the hill state.

“The interests of Himachal Pradesh have been totally ignored, this reflects that the Central government is discriminating against the people of the state,” said Dhumal.

“The state has only been able to get 33 km length of railway track line in the last 63 years despite being a strategically border state with China,” he said.

He termed the proposals of the Railway Budget of the UPA government for the next financial year as mere jugglery of figures. The interests of the people of the state and national security has been ignored.
