Railways' Nagpur division records 7% revenue increase in June

The Nagpur division of Central Railway has recorded earnings of Rs 394.63 crores in the month of June thereby clocking an increase of seven percent in revenue against the previous month.

Passenger traffic enabled earnings worth Rs 58.80 crores, up by 12 percent against the month of May.The major chunk of revenue has come from freight earnings which was Rs 328.99 crores. In the month of May, freight earning was less by six percent, a release from Nagpur division of Central Railway said today.

An amount of Rs 6.83 crores was received from coaching while the surprise ticket checking drive has fetched Rs 54.45 lakhs which was 31.18 percent higher than the month of May, it said.

Unreserved ticket system (UTS) counters were opened at 28 stations between Itarsi and Wardha-Ballarshah section of Nagpur division, the release added.
