The Rajasthan government is planning to implement an agro-based industrial policy to promote food processing industries and related sectors in the state.

"The policy is aimed at generating employment in the rural sector. It will offer incentives to food processing industries along with allied industries of marketing and packaging," an agriculture department official said.

The government is also promoting nurseries in the rural areas, the official said, adding Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has asked private players to set up nurseries and orchids in villages.

"The state government would support such initiatives. We would associate such ventures with the central-sponsored NREGA scheme, "he said.
