The monsoon session of Parliament has been extended till August 31 with Rajya Sabha today deciding to sit for two more days as several bills including the Nuclear Civil Liability Bill are yet to be considered.
There has been no formal decision about the extension of the Lok Sabha which could be extended by a day after the scheduled conclusion of August 27.
In the Rajya Sabha, P J Kurien, who was in the Chair, announced the Business Advisory Committee of the House has decided to have sittings on August 30 and 31.
However, there will no Question Hour during the two extra days.
Kurien said that the House has to discuss and pass several significant bills like the Nuclear Civil Liability Bill.
The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will be having a sitting on this Saturday but would not meet on Monday and Tuesday next week (August 23 and 24) due to festivals like Onam and Raksha Bandhan.
