Nearly two-and-half months after he was evicted from the grounds, Yoga guru Ramdev was at the Ramlila Maidan today to extend support to Anna Hazare's movement for a strong Lok Pal.

Ramdev said he was with the 74-year-old Gandhian for an hour to extend solidarity in his "fight against corruption" and make the system "transparent".

"The logjam should end soon," Ramdev said referring to negotiations between Team Anna and government representatives.

Calling for a "bigger struggle", he said the country must ensure justice to "farmers, poor and the oppressed".

"We have to change our system. We will have to prepare ourselves for a bigger struggle. We will have to ensure justice to farmers, poor and downtrodden," he said.

"Some people have betrayed the country..We have to fight against them. The wrongs committed in the last 64 years have to be corrected," he said.

Recalling the police action against him on the intervening night of June 4 and 5, he claimed because of the criticism of the police, it has not resorted to any such action this time.

"Because of the consequences of the police action then, the forces have not come here with batons this time," he said.
