By the end of March 2017, the currency in circulation had reached 74.3 per cent of the level prevailing prior to demonetisation.  

The pace of growth in the currency in circulation had moderated for four weeks in March, when some cities had witnessed difficulty in cash withdrawals at ATMs. Currency in circulation for the week ended March 31, 2017, rose by 1.7 per cent to Rs 13,35,270 crore over the previous week.
