One of the National Democratic Alliance government’s major achievements in the last year of its tenure has been to improve India’s rankings in the Ease of Doing Business index. India moved 23 stops up the charts to reach 77 on the Ease of Doing Business ranking. A key contribution to this improvement came for from simplifying the layers of permissions required for the real estate and construction industry.
