Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today assured the Indian diaspora that the reform process would be carried forward in the economic field and extended to adminstration and polity so that India's latent potential was unchained. Delivering the inaugural address at the three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, which commenced here, he said: "the economic policies initiated at home in the past decade has enabled us to connect with you more vigorously and to engage you in a meaningful way in the reconstruction of our motherland." Stating that the polices have significantly contributed to the emergence of India as a major economic player, Singh asserted that with the tremendous strides in the knowledge-based sector, there was no doubt that the 21st Century would be an Indian century. |
