The Congress party today issued show-cause notice to Haryana MP and son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi, for criticising the state government for clearing a Rs 25,000 crore Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project of Reliance Industries. |
Bishnoi has been given two weeks time to reply to the notice, according to All-India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Haryana Janardan Dwivedi. |
The notice to Bishnoi was issued for taking a public position against the state government's decision to allow the Reliance Industries for setting up the multi-product SEZ that could see a total investment of Rs 1,25,000 crore over the next five years. |
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had on Monday scotched reports about the deferment of the signing of the joint venture agreement due to "political differences" within the Congress. |
State government sources had clarified that it had to be deferred as the RIL chairman was out of the country. The agreement will now be signed on June 19. |
