The Congress party today issued show-cause notice to Haryana MP and son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi, for criticising the state government for clearing a Rs 25,000 crore Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project of Reliance Industries.

Bishnoi has been given two weeks time to reply to the notice, according to All-India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Haryana Janardan Dwivedi.

The notice to Bishnoi was issued for taking a public position against the state government's decision to allow the Reliance Industries for setting up the multi-product SEZ that could see a total investment of Rs 1,25,000 crore over the next five years.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had on Monday scotched reports about the deferment of the signing of the joint venture agreement due to "political differences" within the Congress.

State government sources had clarified that it had to be deferred as the RIL chairman was out of the country. The agreement will now be signed on June 19.
